Jimmy Duran, is a proud Brooklyn native and first generation Dominican – American. Jimmy received his Undergraduate degree in legal studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and his first Graduate degree in Political Science and International Relations from Brooklyn College. Both institutions are part of the City University of New York system.

He prides himself on being an entrepreneur. His extensive experience encompasses business projects in real estate, government contracts and international trade. As a member of the EMBA Temple University Fox School of Business Class EMBA Class of 2018, Jimmy is working to solidify a higher level of business acumen, focusing on long term strategic vision and understanding the issues and opportunities related to scaling a business in a competitive and disruptive environment.

He has served his country in the US Army Reserve, and has deployed on missions to the Middle East as a civilian contractor. Jimmy is currently the Director of Programs and Small Business Development and Education at the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He is also a valued advisory Board Member of several organizations including “Scale UP”, part of The Enterprise Center, a judge for the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses program at the Community College of Philadelphia as well as a member of the City of Philadelphia’s Planning Commission Steering Committee.

Jimmy is a serial founder and is currently involved in three startups. As a function of his expertise, Jimmy speaks at entrepreneurship events for disabled veterans, newly arrived immigrants and is an advocate for emerging entrepreneurs who are looking to start a business and obtain government contracts.

Jimmy enjoys time with this wife and two young daughters, along with long distance running and international travel.
