Therese Flaherty has served on the Governing Body of Athena Powerlink for several years. She is an experienced business professional who supports entrepreneurs, growing businesses and community services. She served as Director of the Wharton Small Business Development Center at the University of Pennsylvania for 14 years until 2016; during that period she developed professional business education and strategic consulting programs to enable hundreds of Wharton MBAs and undergrads and dozens of professionals to support over 500 entrepreneurs building businesses each year. During this period she also served on advisory boards for several educational programs at the Wharton School and economic development organizations in Southeast Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Metropolitan region. Flaherty has taught economics, global marketing and operations management at the Wharton School, Harvard Business School and Stanford University. She earned her PhD from Carnegie-Mellon University and her BS from Tufts University. She is the author of Global Operations Management (McGraw-Hill).
